Sun Initial meeting, registration and drivers briefing at Folkestone, Kent. We then set off for the 5 minute drive to the Eurotunnel for crossing into France. A leisurely run through south France and today is a good opportunity to get to know your fellow petrol heads via the supplied Walkie Talkies. Our first nights stop is in Chambery at the gorgeous 15th Century Chateau where an inclusive and exquisite buffet dinner will be prepared for us by gourmet chef Pascal Colliat.
Mon Just north of Grenoble Chambery is perfectly situated for our journey south on the challenging and famous Route Napoleon. We travel via Grasse and Nice onwards to Monaco for a late afternoon arrival at our hotel. After checking in why not relax by the pool before your opportunity to explore Monaco by night with its selection of bars and restaurants. And not forgetting the Casino of course!
Tue Today we drive one of the highlights of the tour and the infamous Monte Carlo Rally stage. Otherwise known as the Col de Turini, this is one of the finest and most challenging roads in Europe. We cover just 100 miles of driving which affords us the opportunity to enjoy Monaco and its shopping and tourist facilities for the remainder of the day. Alternatively you may wish to explore the city for the entire day or even make use of the pool at the hotel, the choice is yours. For our 2nd night’s stay in the Principality you are free to explore Monaco’s night life with plentiful bars and restaurants to choose from.
Wed A relatively relaxed day and a drive along the coast of the the Italian Riviera and then further inland where we head north for the relatively short journey to the achingly beautiful Lake Garda for our night’s stay at our wonderful hotel and an inclusive dinner overlooking the stunning Lake and scenery.
Thur Today is a relatively relaxed day taking in a morning drive into Switzerland and the utterly sublime Swiss Alps via the challenging and fast Nufenen Pass followed by some lunch at our hotel. After some R&R we spend the afternoon enjoying the utterly amazing driving roads that lie on our doorstep – the Furka, Grimsel, Susten and St Gotthard Passes. Dinner can be had at our hotel or one of the local Swiss restaurants nearby in the heart of the Alps.
Fri A relaxed start to the day, in the morning we drive north to the Swiss/German Border and after a spot of lunch at an excellent Pizzeria we know we then head into Germany for an afternoon of pure driving pleasure. The Black Forest and Route 500 is where Ducati test their sports bikes and it’s not hard to understand why – this is one of our all-time favourite driving routes, a real joy to drive. Our night’s stay is superbly situated in the stunning spa town of Baden Baden. Dinner is in the stunning town centre which has a plentiful choice of bars and restaurants. Region specialties include wild boar and asparagus – highly recommended!
Sat With the trip over it’s time for the last leg of the tour. A pleasant and relaxed journey through France with a stop off at the historic deserted Reims racing circuit. Your chance to soak up the eerie atmosphere and drive the main straight stooped in history before saying goodbye to new found friends and the short Eurotunnel crossing before arriving home in Blighty with memories that will last a lifetime!
